OLD GOA
Traffic jams continued along the old Agassaim-Goa Velha highway road as vehicles were seen lining up between Agassaim and Siridao, particularly during late Wednesday evening.
Motorists were particularly having a tough time at the Goa Velha market junction, Sojikoden, Pilar junction and at Cota mansion junction, where vehicles from internal roads were connecting to the main road.
The situation worsened as several four-wheelers were seen overtaking on the wrong lane in a bid to jump the traffic.
It may be recalled that The Goan had highlighted that the traffic proceeding towards Margao has been diverted on the old highway road as the NH66 bypass road has been converted into one-way.
The diversion has been affected to facilitate the construction of highway work on NH66 bypass road, which has resulted in traffic jams on the old highway road.
