In view of the Independence Day on August 15 scheduled in front of the Old Secretariat, Panaji, the Goa Police on Wednesday announced traffic diversions that would remain in place till the end of the ceremony.
For incoming traffic, the stretch of DBB Marg from Bandodkar Statue to Abade Faria Statue will remain closed till 6am on August 15. Vehicles will be diverted at Bandodkar Statue to proceed via the route behind the Old Secretariat “ Match Corner “ Abade Faria Statue “ DBB Marg.
On August 15, from 6am till the conclusion of the function, the closure will extend from Bandodkar Statue to the Ferry Wharf Junction. Traffic will be redirected via behind the Old Secretariat “ Match Corner “ MG Road.
For outgoing traffic on DBB Marg, vehicles will be diverted at Ferry Wharf Junction via Printing Press Junction “ Urban Health Centre Commerce Point Church Square “ Jose Falcao Road/Cortin from 6am on August 14 till the end of the ceremony on August 15.
Police have appealed to motorists to avoid parking on diversion routes and to cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth movement during the celebrations.
