Train services from Goa faced disruption early Sunday after one coach of the Vasco Da Gama–Yesvantpur Express (Train No. 17310) derailed near Castle Rock at around 2:30 AM. The incident occurred between Caranzol and Castle Rock stations in the Hubballi Division. No casualties or injuries were reported as the derailed coach was an empty rake en route for periodic overhaul (POH).Impact on Goa-Linked Train Services:

Train No. 18048 (Vasco– Shalimar) was rescheduled by two hours, departing at 8:30 AM instead of its original 6:30 AM schedule.

Train No. 12780 (Hazrat Nizamuddin – Vasco), which began its journey on May 23, was halted at Londa.

To ensure passenger comfort, breakfast, tea, and drinking water were arranged for over 1,000 travelers stranded at Londa station by South Western Railway.

Quick Action and Restoration:

South Western Railway responded swiftly by dispatching an Accident Relief Train from Vasco. Senior officials, including the General Manager and Additional General Manager, monitored the situation closely.

According to SWR officials, by 8:40 AM, the derailed coach had been successfully re-railed. After track inspection and clearance, train services resumed on the affected section. Passengers travelling to and from Goa can now expect normal train operations, and the railways have assured that any further updates will be promptly shared.
