Trinamool Congress slams govt on law & order situation

PANAJI

Trinamool Congress (TMC) Goa incharge Kirti Azad has accused the State government of a breakdown in law and order in the State, alleging that crimes against women have increased in recent times.
“The failure of the BJP government has been brought to the fore yet again by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s inability to address the issue of increasing sex trafficking in Goa. Goa TMC condemns the Chief Minister’s failure to protect the people of Goa,” said Azad, while addressing a news conference.
"Is it right for Sawant to pass the buck on the union home minister for what is happening in the State? Despite the fact that 93% of the offenders are non-Goans, women are facing the consequences in Goa,” said Azad.
“How is Amit Shah, who is in Delhi, expected to combat the issue of sex trafficking that is plaguing Goa? Chief Minister Sawant’s failure has resulted in Goa being taken for granted."
“Team Goa TMC seeks accountability from the Chief Minister for the worsening condition of law and order in the State. It's high time he takes stock of the situation,” said Azad.
