Despite a ban on multi-axle vehicles travelling on the Belagavi-Goa road via Chorla, these vehicles continue to use the route.

This became evident when a 12-tyre truck carrying heavy goods fell into a drain near Kankumbi Excise Checkpost on the morning of Monday, July 29. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Although the Goan authorities and Deputy Commissioner of Belagavi, Mohammad Roshan, have instructed that heavy traffic should not use this route, there are questions about how this truck ended up there. The truck, which was loaded with tiles, was badly damaged when it overturned, breaking all the tiles.
