Commending the work of the Tourist Police and Coastal Police in their ongoing drive against unauthorised hawkers and vendors along the beach belts, the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) has urged tourists and locals to report such illegal activities, which have become a menace and are affecting the tourism sector.
In a statement issued, TTAG hailed the police for their strong action against unauthorised hawkers and vendors on Arambol beach recently.
“The TTAG has always maintained a strong stance on the growing menace of unauthorised hawkers and vendors on Goa’s beaches, along with numerous unauthorised touts and street vendors selling all sorts of things and harassing tourists on many of Goa’s roads,” it said.
TTAG said that such unauthorised activities are affecting tourism in Goa, and the much-needed action by the police will send a strong signal that such behaviour will not be tolerated.
“We encourage locals and tourists to report such hawkers, vendors, and touts in any area and to assist the Goa Police in their efforts to take action. We can only achieve this by working together,” TTAG said.
