the goan I networkrPERNEM rrIt may be recalled that Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte on Monday inspected the new primary school premises and had also warned to take up the issue in the assembly session. rAccording to sources, the work is still not fully completed, as during heavy rains, water leaks from the ceiling and students are shifted to another classroom. The GSIDC has allowed the students to sit in the new premises, but is yet to handover the school to the Education department. rWhen contacted, Pernem Zonal Education office informed that permission is given to occupy the new premises and the remaining work would be completed soon. rAfter spending 14 years in the dilapidated Tuem Community Health Centre residential complex, the students of Tuem Government Primary School were moved into the new premises. The students, parents and teachers had to clean the premises and also the rainwater that had accumulated in some classrooms. They worshipped the statue of Swami Vivekananda and Goddess Saraswati and the classes were started.
Tuem govt school now open for students
The state-of-the-art Tuem Government Primary School was finally opened for students on Wednesday. rnThe school was inaugurated on December 25, 2016, in incomplete state. There was delay in completion of the work and parents had repeatedly demanded shifting their children in the new school.
