The Maina-Curtorim police have arrested two persons in connection with the theft of motorcycles.
The two accused persons Jolwin Carvalho and Avalon Gonsalves are both residents of Raia.
Police have claimed they have recovered two motorcycles stolen from Fatorda and Verna area.
Maina Curtorim Police station in-charge, PI Mohan Gawde informed that while PSI Prashant S. Bhagat and HC Somnath Naik, PC Rizwan Shaikh, PC Chetan Koli and PC Ronit Naik all from Maina Curtorim Police station while patrolling at Raia on Saturday evening, they noticed two motorcycles moving without number plates and in suspicion manner.
Since the two-wheelers were moving without number plates, both riders were signaled to stop the vehicles, but they raced their vehicles and fled from spot.
Both vehicles were detained after chasing them about one kilometer. On being asked, they started giving vague answers. After through interrogation, the riders disclosed their names as Avalon Gonsalves, aged 21 years and Jolwin Carvalho, age 20 yrs, both residents of Raia. A minor boy, who was travelling with the duo, has been handed over to his family. The two two-wheelers are stolen vehicles from Verna and Fatorda.
