Two persons from Zuarinagar were booked by Verna police on charges of assaulting a resident of Mangor Hill, Vasco, near the Zuari Bridge at Cortalim on Friday. According to complainant Pratik Chari, the incident occurred on July 11 around 6:30 pm when he was accosted by the accused, identified as Omkar and Ashutosh Ganachari.
Police said both accused, reportedly acting in common intention due to previous enmity, are alleged to have abused Chari using filthy language and later physically assaulted him. “The accused persons allegedly kicked the complainant on his chest, face and other parts of the body, resulting in a fracture to his face. They also issued threats of dire consequences,” police stated.
Verna police have registered a case under sections 352, 117(2) and 351(3) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The investigation is being carried out by Verna Police Head Constable Shiva Naik, under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
