Two cars collide on Karmalghat, 2 hurt

A ‘miracle man’ from Canacona who has been living without both kidneys for eight years was among two persons injured in a road mishap at Karmalghat early Monday morning.

According to Canacona Police, Moteshino Fernandes was proceeding in his Wagon R car to a private hospital in Margao for his dialysis, while a Nano car was in the opposite direction.   
The Wagon R car fell on its side and in the mishap Fernandes injured his hand and ribs. The Wagon R driver, one Imran, was also injured, while Fernandes’ wife and daughter escaped unhurt.   
Fernandes and Imran were rushed to CHC and later shifted to Hospicio in 
Margao, but the doctors on duty recommended dialysis before other medical treatment, His wife then took him to a private hospital for 
dialysis. 
Fernandes, who underwent removal of both kidneys and bladder eight years ago, had been described by doctors as a ‘miracle man’.
