In a freak accident involving a bicycle, motorcycle and a car at Dapot-Maxem, two persons suffered serious injuries in Loliem on Saturday morning.
According to sources, a cyclist from Kajalkar-Loliem heading towards Canacona on NH-66 road reportedly took a sudden right on reaching Dapot grounds, while a motorcyclist riding a motorbike, without a registration number, coming from Karwar in the same direction, got his motorcycle rammed into the cycle from behind. The cyclist fell, while the motorcyclist went astray due to the hit and rammed an oncoming car (GA-07 L-3343) heading towards Karwar.
As the car was halted, the motorcyclist too fell throwing down the rider.
The elderly cyclist, a local of Kajalkar in Loliem suffered face and leg injuries and was quickly shifted in a private vehicle to Canacona Community Health Centre, while the rider from Hamdalli-Karnataka Pratik Tendulkar who suffered a leg fracture was later shifted in am Ambulance to CHC Canacona.
