The two minor girls, who were kidnapped from Cuncolim last week, has been traced and rescued by the Cuncolim police at the Nashik railway station in Maharashtra.
The police has arrested two persons, a minor boy and a major, who were accompanying the two girls. The major boy has been remanded to four days custody for the purpose of investigations.
The police said the two girls and the boys took the train at the Margao railway station to head to the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Sources informed that the families of the girls as well as accused boys hail from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, though they had settled in Cuncolim for some time now.
Sources said the two minor girls, aged 15 years and the boys decided to go to the north Indian state. As the two girls did not return back home from school, their parents decided to lodge reports at the Cuncolim police station.
However, before the four could reach Nashik, a team of Cuncolim police, with the help of intelligence, managed to intercept the four at the Nashik railway station and rescue the two minor girls.
After the police brought them back to the Cuncolim police station, the girls were sent for medical examination.
The Cuncolim police is investigating.
