Two NCP functionaries from Maharashtra who were arrested on Saturday were granted bail on Sunday by Panaji JMFC.

The two NCP functionaries -- Sonia Dohan and Shrey Kothiyal -- were held for alleged impersonation while checking in a starred hotel where the Shiv Sena rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde were staying.

The two were arrested under sections 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code for impersonation and cheating.

Panaji Judicial first class magistrate Shahir Issani granted bail to Sonia Dohan and Shrey Kothiyal with a surety of Rs 20,000 each. Both have been directed to appear before the police for the next four days. Lawyer Ritesh Rawal appeared for the duo.

It was alleged by the police that the two were trying to put an offer on the table to the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs to support former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and the NCP alliance in Maharashtra. However, the duo didn't succeed in their business.
