The bodies of both students who had drowned in the Khandepar river at Okamb near Codar in Dharbandora were retrieved on Tuesday.
Search operations, which were stopped on Monday due poor light, resumed on Tuesday morning. Ponda police and Ponda fire station also sought the services of the Indian Navy divers.
The body of Pradip Malanvar (17) had surfaced by the time the naval team reached the site, while the body of Sanina Mulla (16) was recovered by noon after carrying out extensive diving in the area.
Both bodies were sent for an autopsy and Malanvar's family said the last rites would be performed at their native place in Karnataka.
Meanwhile, Ponda Police Inspector Mohan Gaude said a number of youth have lost their lives in this particular stretch of the river in recent years.
“We will report the matter to senior officials and seek measures to prevent more deaths at the site,” said PI Gaude.
