Police arrested two youth for being in illegal possession of narcotics worth Rs 2.20 lakh in two separate raids in Calangute.
In the first raid a native of Ratnagiri, Avdhut Ghode (21) was apprehended at midnight with ganja weighing 1.2 kg and worth Rs 1.20 lakh in Calangute while Shabbir Shah (19) a native of West Bengal was nabbed in the wee hours of Sunday with 1.034 kg ganja worth Rs 1 lakh, Calangute Police informed.
The illegal drugs were seized and the accused arrested under Section 20 (b) (ii) (B) of NDPS Act.
Calangute PI, Nolasco Raposo led the raiding team along with PSI Navin Dessai and Vishal Mandrekar, Head Constables Vinod Naik and Devidas Haldankar and Police Constables Vinay Shrivastav, Suresh Naik, Dinesh Morajkar and Suraj Khandekar.
Calangute police are investigating further.
