Two-yr-old drowns in drain at Rumdamol Housing Board

A two-year-old minor boy has met a watery grave in a wastewater drainage at Rumdamol Housing Board.

Post-mortem examination conducted by the medico-legal surgeon has certified the cause of death as “asphyxia as a result of drowning in water”. However, viscera has been preserved for chemical analysis.

While the dead body has been handed over to the family for final rites, police said the family has not suspected foul play behind the death.

Police inquiry by Maina Curtorim police has revealed that the minor boy, namely Shifan Ali, aged two years, resident of Rumdamol Davorlim Housing Board and native of Uttar Pradesh, might have accidentally fallen in the wastewater drain, seen flowing at the side of the deceased’s residence.

After conducting the scene of incident Panchanama, the dead body of the minor boy was taken out from the said wastewater with the help of locals.
