The University College Teachers Association, Goa (UCTAG) celebrated its Golden Jubilee in a function held recently at the SS Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, Cujira, Bambolim. The function began with a State Level Seminar on ‘Tax and Financial Planning for the Salaried’ with Resource Person, CA Sonam Suraj Daivajne.
Prof (Dr ) Anthony Rodrigues, President-UCTAG gave the keynote address, in which he categorically appealed teachers to follow Tax planning measures intelligently and keep themselves abstain from Tax avoidance and Tax evasion.
It was very informative and highly successful session appreciated by all. The seminar was followed by the main felicitation function for the superannuated college teachers. The formal function was graced by the Chief Guest, Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai in absentia. The Guests of Honour were Shri Shripad Y. Naik, the Union Minister of State for Tourism, and Shrinivas V Dempo, Chairman, Dempo Group of Companies; while the Special Invitee was Nitin Kunkolienkar, President Emeritus of MAIT and former President GCCI.
The function began with the welcome-cum Presidential address given by the UCTAG President, Prof (Dr)Anthony Rodrigues, who elucidated the rich legacy of UCTAG Movement and achievements in Goa, he elucidated the indispensable role of a teacher in nation building, mentoring and recorded a positive note on the unveiling of the NEP 2020 in Goa in the coming academic year.
