SANGUEM
The Uguem panchayat has assured to issue a notice to the party concerned in connection with the construction of a road through a paddy field alongside the main road at Dando-Sanguem.
The complainant, Santano Rodrigues, informed that though he had filed a complaint regarding the filling of the paddy field early last week, the panchayat had failed to take appropriate action in the matter, despite strictures from the High Court to stop such roadside activities.
Rodrigues raised the issue at the Gram Sabha on Sunday and questioned the panchayat secretary and the Sarpanch over the complaint lodged by him.
After the complainant threatened to put the issue before the Gram Sabha members for voting, the secretary assured to send a notice to the party concerned.
