Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, Water Resource, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari expressed unhappiness over the progress of ongoing work in the state of Goa and demanded that the local authorities quicken the pace of works.
Officials sought to blame opposition from locals for the slow pace of works.
Gadkari chaired a review meeting of ongoing projects of the Ministry of Road Transport and National Highway Authority of India today at Goa.
In a two day meeting, he is reviewing the progress of ongoing National Highway Projects. 427 projects are being undertaken by National Highway Authority of India while Ministry of Road Transport has undertaken the work of 369 projects.
