An unidentified person allegedly entered a house at Shantinagar-Bhuipal in Honda, Sattari, by removing or shifting roof tiles around 5 am on October 1, while a woman and her daughter were sleeping inside. The complainant has alleged that the intruder attempted theft and molestation before fleeing.

Sheetal Satish Tari of Shantinagar submitted a written complaint at Valpoi Police Station on October 1, seeking identification of the person and appropriate legal action.

According to the complaint, Tari and her daughter heard a noise and woke up to find an unknown person inside the house. Tari allegedly tried to catch him, but he fled after realising that he had been noticed. The woman and her daughter attempted to chase him, but he managed to escape.

The complainant stated that the person appeared to be a migrant worker, but his identity remains unknown.

Tari has claimed that police have not registered a cognisable offence despite receiving her complaint. She alleged that she was informed that registering a case would involve further legal proceedings and court appearances.

She has sought increased police patrolling, verification of persons staying in rented accommodation and examination of CCTV footage. Residents have also demanded stronger security measures, particularly during night and early morning hours.

The allegations are yet to be verified through a police investigation.
