Some unknown culprits snatched a gold chain of an old-aged woman, ParvatiNaik, from BhandarwadaAmona during the wee hours of Friday afternoon.
According to the complaint lodged by the Amonapanch member SandeshNaik at Sankhali police outpost, the culprits were two in number with one of them riding a motorbike wearing a helmet. The duo came closer to the victim on the pretext of asking the whereabouts of a person and taking advantage of the situation, the pillion rider snatched the chain from the neck of the woman. The woman raised an alarm but there was nobody on the road. On getting the information ASI MadhuGawas along with a police constable rushed to the spot and conducted a panchanama. CCTV footage was also checked.
Sankhali police is further investigating the matter.
