MARGAO
An unknown person was stoned to death along the tracks near the Old Margao railway station Wednesday night.
The incident came to light on Thursday morning when the Margao police received a call informing that an unknown person has been done to death along the railway tracks.
A police team led by Margao PI C L Patil that rushed to the spot found the dead person lying in a pool of blood. Inquiries have revealed that the unknown person, who was found in the area was seen around the place for last 15 days.
PI Patil said though the identity of the deceased remains unknown, inquiries have revealed that the deceased was known as Anthony. “He was bed ridden and was seen around the place for the last 15 days. We are trying to establish his identity and the motive behind the murder," PI Patil said.
A case of murder has been registered against unknown persons. Further investigations are on.
