CANACONA
A 29-year-old man hailing from Agra, UP, was arrested on charges of possessing drugs worth Rs 4.31 lakh at Colomb-Canacona on Monday evening.
According to Canacona PI Pravin Gawas, the accused, Deepu Singh, presently employed at a restaurant in Ourem-Palolem, was caught red-handed in possession of a substance suspected to be charas when a police team led by PSI Vishal Velip conducted a search near a mosque in Colomb.
The accused was arrested under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, 1985, and is in police custody. Canacona PSI Ajit K Velip is investigating the case.
