Usgao sarpanch demands signboards along dangerous stretch

PONDA

Voicing concern over the substantial increase in road mishaps between Par-Usgao and MRF company, the Usgao panchayat has requested the PWD to erect signboards along this accident-prone stretch for the safety of motorists.

“There has been a sharp rise in mishaps along this stretch. The stretch of road between Par-Usgao and MRF Company is very narrow. Motorists travelling between Ponda and Mollem are unaware of this narrow road at Par-Usgao as there are no signboards to caution them and road mishaps take place,” said Sarpanch Ramnath Dangui.

“Usgao Panchayat has requested the PWD to erect signboards along this stretch of road for the safety of vehicle drivers.”

The sarpanch also emphasises on measures needed to tackle stray cattle from roaming on the roads.

“Many stray cattle are found on the road from Par-Usgao to MRF company. A few days ago, a rider lost his life in an attempt to avoid hitting a stray cattle. Therefore, we will also request the PWD to install nets on both sides of the road along this stretch,” said Dangui.
