Uttara Kannada native arrested with ganja at Canacona

CANACONA: A native of Uttara Kannada residing at Chaudi was arrested by Canacona police on Thursday evening for allegedly possessing ganja worth around Rs 52,000.

According to police, Shrinath Vaddar was detained after he was found moving suspiciously near the Chaudi cemetery behind the KTC bus stand on Thursday evening.

Police allegedly caught him with 1,040.3 grams of flowering or fruiting tops of the cannabis plant, suspected to be ganja.

Vaddar was arrested under the NDPS Act. Further investigation is being conducted by Canacona PSI Vishal Velip.
