A vacation trip turned tragic after five tourist from Akola, Maharashtra drowned at Calangute beach on Monday morning. While three bodies were washed ashore, two still continue to be missing.
A group of 14, all residents of Vitthal Nagar, Akola, Maharashtra reached Goa via rail at around 4:00 am on Monday morning. Further the hired a taxi to Calangute and immediately ventured into the sea upon reaching.
While five were pulled by the strong water currents, the others made it to the shore, unhurt. The police and life guards are in search for the missing two individuals.
