In a historic development, the Comunidade of Varca was officially revived after a hiatus of 30 years. The elections to constitute a new executive body were held on Sunday, drawing an overwhelming turnout of shareholders, marking a significant moment in the community’s history.
The following members were elected unopposed to lead the comunidade: Solon Furtado “ President, Haveloc Ferrao “ Substitute President, Edgar Furtado - Attorney, Joaquim Savio Furtado “ Substitute Attorney, Shollet Roncon Pereira “ Treasurer and Jesus Shastri Rebello “ Substitute Treasurer.
Addressing the gathering, the newly elected President Solon Furtado expressed heartfelt gratitude to all shareholders and members who played a crucial role in reviving the comunidade. He called for the collective support and cooperation of all stakeholders to propel the comunidade toward progress and development.
The meeting was successfully coordinated by Epifania Rodrigues and presided over by Angela, ensuring a smooth and effective process.
This landmark event reflects the community’s commitment to restoring and strengthening traditional governance systems, fostering unity, and preserving its rich heritage, Solan added.
