The members of Vasco Block Congress Commitee led by GPCC secretary and Congress leader Saifullah Khan protested against the fuel price hike by the BJP Government.
The members held placards and banners protesting the fuel price hike at various petrol pumps in Vasco.
GPCC Secretary Saifullah Khan speaking to reporters has demanded that the hiked prices be rolled back immediately.
"Today we are hurt by the steady increase in the prices of fuel that has pinched the pockets of the common man. The prices of petrol and Diesel have been hiked and we are left to wonder how the common man will survive if he has to spend so much only on fuel. While in the pandemic, people are already struggling and some people have lost their jobs while some are coping with half their salaries, and in such times, if the fuel prices are hiked so much, what will the common man save with almost half his salary going into fuel expenses," Said Khan.
"The entire country is suffering with the hike in fuel charges. The hike in fuel prices will also cascade into hiking of other commodities and also fares of public transport. We demand that the Union Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately roll back the fuel prices for the benefit of the people," said Khan.
