Vasco police led by PI Nilesh Rane on Sunday arrested two persons, both native of Uttar Pradesh based on suspicion of theft.
However after searching both the accused, the Vasco police recovered 20 mobile phones.
A source in the Vasco police, said that the phones could have likely been stolen during the New Year celebrations in the state.
"Vasco police station team consisting of PI Nilesh Rane, Ritesh Tari , PSIs Ganesh Matonkar, Swapnil Naik, Utkrant Dessai, Head Constables Santosh Bhatkar, Sachin Bandekar and Constable Gauresh Satardekar arrested two persons Anshu Shibertan and Juvair Shamim Ali both residents of UP who were moving about suspiciously and on searching them recovered 20 high-end mobile phones. The same could have been stolen at beaches during New Year's party. Further investigation is on under supervision of SP Abhishek Dhaniya," said the source.
