VASCO
Vasco police has begun a strict tenant verification drive with police teams visiting various houses to check for the presence of Bangladesh nationals.
"We were always having a tenant verification drive but we have stepped up the operation these days because we have found that many Bangladesh nationals have been found in North Goa,” said Vasco PI Kapil Nayak.
“We never know how and when these Bangladeshis may reach Goa and I have given strict instructions to search for any Bangladesh nationals and bring them to the police station for further necessary action.”
PI Nayak warned of strict action against those residing without filling tenant verification forms and against those house owners giving rooms on rent without tenant verification formalities.
“We have already started a stringent drive since Monday and we already detained around 15 people who have not filled the tenant verification forms," said PI Nayak.
“I have briefed and instructed every beat staff and LIB officials to check each and every house because many people offer rooms on rent without tenant verification which the criminals take as an advantage.”
