The 117th Lord Damodar Saptah began amid religious fervour at Lord Damodar rntemple, Vasco, on Monday afternoon.

Hundreds of devotees from Vasco and other parts of the State thronged the temple and took part in the religious ceremony.
Paresh Joshi placed the sreefal at the feet of Lord Damodar in the afternoon to mark the beginning of the Saptah.
Later in the evening, different Hindu Samaj groups presented religious tableaus and later dispersed after seeking blessings. Besides tableaus, noted singers also performed near the railway station, where a special stage is erected for performances.
Many high-profile personalities including Power Minister Milind Naik, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, other political leaders, Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chirperson Deepak Naik, Councillors, MMC Chief Officer Deepali Naik and senior police officers visited the temple to seek blessings of Lord Damodar.
The religious ceremony which started on Monday afternoon with the placing of the sreefal at the feet of Lord Damodar will conclude on Tuesday afternoon after immersing last year’s sreefal at Vasco beach.
The devotees dancing to the tune of religious songs and chanting of bhajans and kirtans will leave the temple with the sreefal and dance their way to the Vasco beach.
