LIST OF FOUR
* Former bureaucrat Elvis Gomes for Cuncolim
* Forest rights leader Ravindra Velip for Sanguem
* Kharvi samaj leader Rajesh Valvaikar for Porvorim
* Youth icon and dancer Cecille Lee Rodrigues for Taleigao

Former bureaucrat Elvis Gomes is one of the four candidates on the third list unveiled by the Aam Admi Party (AAP) on Tuesday for the Goa Assembly elections in 2017.
The 53-year-old Gomes, who recently retired (voluntary) from services to join active politics, has been named as AAP candidate for Cuncolim.
The other three names include ST and forest rights leader Ravindra Velip for Sanguem Assembly segment, Kharvi samaj leader Rajesh Valvaikar from Porvorim and prominent youth icon and dancer Cecille Lee Rodrigues for Taleigao.
It is interesting to note how the AAP platform has brought together Velip and Gomes, who in the month of March engaged in a shadow wrestling match over the alleged assault and attempt to murder Velip, while he was lodged at the Sada jail.
Then a panch member from Caurem-Pirla village Panchayat and an anti-illegal mining activist, Velip had submitted a written complaint to the then Inspector General of Prisons Gomes and Chief Secretary alleging grievous assault and attempt to murder while in judicial custody in Sada jail.
In his report after conducting the preliminary inquiry, Gomes had suggested that a detailed investigation be carried out by a competent authority into the alleged incident.
The magisterial inquiry report by Additional District Magistrate Swapnil Naik however, stated that 51 prison inmates of sub-jail at Sada, who were present during the alleged assault on Ravindra Velip, specifically denied any assault on Velip.
Meanwhile, AAP campaign committee has reiterated its intention to keep the scrutiny of all candidates open till the very last moment while informing that the fourth list will be disclosed in another week’s time.
