The hyper-sensitive Zuari Nagar in Cortalim constituency already seems to be suffering from election ills, with verbal clashes breaking out between supporters of two candidates on Monday.
According to police sources, supporters belonging to Cortalim independent candidate Antonio Vaz and Congress supporters indulged in heated arguments.
According to Verna police PSI Gautam Shetkar, a non-cognizable case was registered and there was only an exchange of offensive words between rival supporters. Zuari Nagar is long been considered as a sensitive area in Cortalim constituency during elections.
Zuari Nagar, which is a migrant dominated belt, has a voter-base of around 9,000 voters and is considered crucial to win the Cortalim Assembly seat.
