Verna Industrial Association (VIA) on Friday helped resolve water supply issues faced by houses on a hillock at Quelossim by inaugurating a water project.
According to reports, Colorcon Asia Private Limited took up the proposal through the VIA to help the houses at Quelossim.
“Around 15 houses on the hillock in Quelossim had been facing water scarcity for many years and residents had been requesting the panchayat to get the issue resolved through PWD.”
“After several attempts, the Quelossim panchayat finally approached the VIA who accepted the panchayat’s request and decided to have a water project to help the villagers,” said the source.
The VIA has now installed a 5,000 ltr tank at a low level and has connected the tank to a water pipeline to store the water. Another water storage tank of around 3,000 litres has been at a higher level near the houses. “Water will be stored in the tank below and will be pumped into the tank placed at a higher level, from where residents will get their daily water quota. The tanks, civil works and the other construction have been taken up under the VIA by Colorcon Asia Private Limited,” said the source.
