AAP flays Lobo’s stance, blames BJP-govt for poor condition in rural areas

PANAJI
Criticising Rural Development Minister Michael Lobo’s statement that there are many places in Goa that are undeveloped, Aam Aadmi Party said the poor condition in the rural and suburban areas is only because of the mismanagement and misrule of the Bharatiya Janata Party that has been ruling the State since 2012.

Aam Aadmi Party said that they have been highlighting the issues of lack of amenities in rural and suburban areas of Goa.

“Actually Michael Lobo’s statement is a mere eyewash to hoodwink the people because elections are nearing,” said AAP Goa convener Rahul Mhambre pointing out that the Assembly elections are due to be held in 2022.

He said not only rural areas but even suburban areas like Mapusa have lot of problems with basic amenities and lamented that Mapusa does not even receive proper drinking water. “Roads are in a pitiable condition all over Goa and the government only promises of repairing them,” he said while pointing out that none of the roads have been repaired.

He said no mobile connectivity and no electricity that Lobo referred to is not only in rural areas but all over Goa and further pointed out that this is causing a major problem for students who have to attend online classes.

“The inept BJP government led by Pramod Sawant has made the future of our children dark as they cannot even study properly to prepare for the challenges that life will throw at them,” said Rahul.

He said the BJP which has been in slumber for the last four years has now suddenly woken up because elections are round the corner and making ridiculous statement. Rahul cautioned that the people of Goa are not fools and have realised the BJP’s game plan and will give them a befitting reply as and when elections are held.

“AAP has been actively raising issues of high electricity bills and poor supply of  water in different areas of Goa,” added Mhambre.
