A road protest campaign was carried out today in Raia village (Curtorim Constituency) to highlight the grave issue of road digging and neglected repairs in the Bacbhat and Colleamdongor areas.
The protest, led by Engr. Roque Virgilio Mascarenhas along with AAP volunteers and supporters, drew strong participation from local residents who have been suffering due to the unsafe and pothole-ridden internal roads.
A protest letter signed by the residents of the affected areas was prepared and will be formally submitted to the Roads Division of the PWD, demanding urgent restoration of the roads.
The campaign also received added momentum with the presence of Dr Shelly Oberoi, Ex-Mayor of Delhi, who joined the volunteers and extended solidarity with the residents’ demands.
Engr Mascarenhas stated, “The people of Raia cannot be made to suffer endlessly because of administrative neglect. We will continue to raise our voice until safe and motorable roads are ensured for all residents.”
The protest is part of a broader people’s movement in Curtorim Constituency to hold authorities accountable and to secure basic civic infrastructure that every citizen deserves.
