A chilling viral video has captured the final moments of a tourist who was swept into the sea by powerful waves while perched on rocks along the Baga coastline, turning what appeared to be a scenic seaside moment into a tragedy within seconds.

The deceased has been identified as Ashpak Masali (34) from Bijapur, who was in Goa with a female friend.

The 20-second video, which has been widely shared on social media, shows Masali perched precariously on the edge of a rock overlooking the vast Arabian Sea.

The footage depicts rough sea conditions, with waves repeatedly crashing against the rocky formation as he remains seated dangerously close to the water.

As the video progresses, a particularly powerful wave surges toward the rocks and crashes with tremendous force.

The impact dislodges Masali from his perch and hurls him into the turbulent waters below.

The dramatic footage then shows the tourist struggling against the rough sea. He is seen surfacing briefly and attempting to swim to safety as the powerful currents pull him away from the shoreline.

Witnesses can only watch helplessly as he appears above the water a couple of times before vanishing beneath the waves.

According to information available, the tourist was seated on the rocks when the sudden wave struck and swept him into the sea.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with the viral video serving as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by Goa's monsoon seas. Despite repeated warnings from authorities, tourists are often seen venturing onto rocks and into restricted coastal areas to take photographs or enjoy panoramic views of the coastline.

Following the incident, search and rescue teams launched an operation to locate the missing tourist. After sustained efforts, his body was recovered from the Baga shoreline.

Authorities are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
