Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Sunday applauded the efforts of the entire medical fraternity in Goa as well as the support extended by Goans to the “janata curfew” called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sharing his statement to the media in the form of a video, Rane said, “ I applaud the work being done by health workers, doctors and all frontline workers. I appreciate their effort.”
The Health Minister also welcomed the decision taken by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to extend the ‘janata curfew’ for three more days in Goa.
“Let’s play our part in curbing the menace of Coronavirus. It’s a good decision by the CM. It is likely that some of us might be inconvenienced due to difficulties in securing essential services and goods. But the CM’s decision is for the wellbeing of Goans. Health services will continue uninterrupted. But we need to fight in a united manner if we want to prevent entry of this virus into Goa,” Rane said.
He further hinted at the possibility that the lockdown might continue beyond these three days depending upon the situation across the country.
