Beleaguered depositors of the Visionaries Urban Cooperative Credit Society assembled at the Colva branch anticipating the affairs of the society would be handed over to a committee of administrators.
However, the handing over of the charge did not take place as per the directions of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies and the same is expected to take place on Tuesday.
In his note, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, south zone, Pundalik Parab, had directed the ex-chairperson of Visionaries and the staff members of the branches of Colva and Majorda to remain present, apparently to hand over the charge of the society to the committee of administrators.
Parab had also asked the committee of administrators to remain present at the respective branches on Monday at 10.30 am.
As per the note, the ex-chairperson Gracy Vaz was further instructed to contact the staff members of the society to ensure they remain present at the two branches, with the Assistant Registrar sounding a word of caution that failure to abide by his instruction will attract legal action for not obeying the directions issued by the authority.
