Drishti has claimed that its lifeguard on duty at Betalbatim beach rescued two fishermen on Monday morning.
In a statement, Drishti pointed out that a group of around 20 fishermen were hauling a fishing net ashore at Betalbatim beach on Monday morning. “From the group, six fishermen were standing ahead, in deeper waters. Suddenly a strong wave knocked off two fishermen who were pulled into the waters by a rip current. The lifeguard on duty Cleyton who was stationed on shore keeping a watch on the group rushed to the aid of the duo. He swam into the waters with his rescue tube and secured them to the tube and brought them back to shore. Though visibly shaken, the fishermen’s vitals were normal,” the statement added.
