Walkathon on world AIDS day in Mapusa

MAPUSA: Udant is organising a "Walkathon" - A Walk for an AIDS Free Generation and Solidarity with People Living with HIV/AIDS, on December 1 to commemorate World AIDS Day.

“The Walkathon will begin from the Duler Football Stadium and will culminate at the taxi stand, Mapusa. The timing is from 9 am to 12.30 pm,” said Anita Pereira, secretary of Udant.

More than 600 participants including students from educational institutions from in and around Mapusa, volunteers and staff of the organisation will be participating in the event.

Udant is a registered NGO working in the field of HIV/AIDS and related issues with youth in educational institutions, other labour forces, staff of hotels and other industries in Goa.

A team of Election Commission of India will be in Goa on December 12 to hold a review meeting on the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) with the political parties.
