Want to know who funds court cases of activists: CM

CANACONA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday hit out at activists and accused them of being hell-bent on hindering the smooth development of the state.

“Be it shacks, CRZ, mining, bridges or roads, these so-called activists oppose everything by going to courts and hindering all activities. It’s time we question them on where they get all the money to take people-oriented development matters to courts,” said Sawant.

“Goa’s actual development has begun only from 2012 and one can see projects right from Patradevi (with Mopa International Airport) to Polem and from Molem to Mormugao.”

“During the last five years alone, Goa had either completed or is on the verge of completing projects worth over Rs 15,000 crore from the Centre. Most issues will be resolved by 2020 and don’t expect solutions overnight. Give us some more time to solve the problems,” the chief minister added.
