Wanted Uzbek woman held at Dabolim airport

VASCO: A 44-year-old Uzbek woman who was wanted in a human trafficking case by the Uzbekistan police was arrested at Dabolim airport on Wednesday, after the local authorities acted on a red corner notice issued by the Interpol.
According to reports, the Dabolim immigration department detained an Uzbek national, Lola Khakimova, while she was trying to travel from Goa to Dubai via Muscat. Khakimova was married in India and had been residing in Mumbai since 2006.

as wanted by the Uzbekistan police in a human trafficking case since 2013, after which a red corner notice was issued against her by Interpol.
She was identified and detained by immigration department at Dabolim airport and after a preliminary enquiry, was handed over to the Dabolim police station.
Dabolim police later arrested her under Section 41 IPC and produced her before the JMFC Court, where she was remanded to two days in judicial custody.
