Water pipeline bursts at Mapusa

Ongoing work to widen the highway at Peddem-Mapusa led to the damage of the water pipeline yet again, with thousands of litres of water going to waste on Thursday

The digging work with the help of a JCB machine was going on when the pipeline connecting main tank at Mapusa was damaged at Peddem, disrupting water supply to Mapusa.

A PWD (water supply) assistant engineer and other employees rushed to the site and work to repair the pipeline was taken up later in the evening.

Executive Engineer Shambhu Malvankar said the repair work is underway and water supply would be restored soon.
