Three places in Mapusa and some parts of Assagao were affected when a 250mm water pipeline got damaged at the Ganeshpuri Junction in Mapusa on Thursday.
According to information, the water pipeline burst on Thursday morning, affecting the areas of Ghateshwar Nagar, Ektanagar and Ganeshpuri in Mapusa.
On receiving the news, water supply officials conducted an inspection and found the location of the broken water pipe. They suspect the pipeline got damaged due to the movement of heavy vehicles on the road.
Repair work began with the help of a JCB and water supply is likely to be restored by Friday morning.
Incidentally, the road was hotmixed recently and local residents have expressed displeasure as the road was dug up to repair the water pipeline.
