A few months ago, residents of Chiplem had been benefiting from a water supply arrangement made possible with the earlier installation of a tank, but a few houses located at a higher elevation had to be left out due to elevation-related challenges.
Taking note of the situation and the plight of these residents in the hilly area, Tribal Welfare Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar directed water supply officials to overcome the technical challenges involved in supplying water to these houses.
The efforts have finally been successful, and the water supply has been extended to houses in the hilly areas of Chiplem, bringing much relief and happiness to the villagers.
During his visit to the locality to interact with the people of Chiplem on Thursday, Tawadkar also assured villagers that a new road will be provided once the land NOC procedures are completed.
