Water-logging problems? Govt lays pavers near Navelim church junction

Water-logging problems? Govt lays pavers near Navelim church junction

MARGAO
In a bid to tide over water-logging at the Navelim Church junction on the NH66 during monsoons, the government has taken up the works of laying of pavers at the junction at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh.

Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuemkar launched the development work at the junction, which was blessed by the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim Fr Gabriel Coutinho in the presence of Sarpanch Paul Pereira and others.

The Navelim MLA informed that the Navelim junction has been a perennial water-logging spot during monsoons, resulting in craters at the junction.

“It is suspected that because of a water body, the water level rises at the junction resulting in water-logging and damage to the road. This time, it has been decided to lay pavers at the junction to tide over the perennial problem,” Tuemkar said.
