Trinamool Congress party MLA Churchill Alemao on Thursday said the party will form the next government in Goa in the coming polls in alliance with the MGP and others.
Addressing an impressive meeting of party Navelim candidate, Valanka Alemao at Navelim grounds on Thursday, Churchill exuded confidence the TMC will win around 8-10 seats, adding the TMC will form the government with the remaining seats coming from the MGP and others.
Churchill dwelt at length on the issue of formalin, pointing out that the formalin mafia is active now in deciding tickets for many a candidate in the ensuing polls. “We can put an end to formalin and provide Goans formalin free fish only when the TMC comes to power in the state,” he said.
He urged the people of Navelim to vote and elect Valanka Alemao saying the candidate will never let down the people of the constituency.
TMC MP Luizinho Faleiro, TMC Goa co-incharge, Sushmita Dev, Navelim ZP member Cipru Cardozo and others were also present.
Earlier, addressing the media, Churchill said Goans should be beware of the formalin mafia which is now operating in South Goa and the drug mafia which has its operations in North Goa. “The two mafias are out to destroy Goa. The only way these mafias can be shown their place is by voting the TMC to power,” he added.
Saying the TMC is against coal and track doubling projects, Churchill said the TMC will take on the communal forces head on. “Our leader Mamata Didi has shown the Modi-Amit Shah duo their place. Only Mamata Didi is capable of defeating Narendra Modi in 2024,” he added.
