Fourteen fishermen were saved in joint operation by the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), CISF and Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
A source said the 14 fishermen were on board a small boat that drifted towards the shallow water
"A joint rescue operation led by Capt Manoj Joshi (MPA Dy Conservator), Dy Com Kuldeep Bhagat (CISF) and DIG V Singh (ICG) saved the lives of 14 persons on board a small boat which drifted in shallow water due to choppy weather and shortage of fuel.”
“In a swift operation, fuel was provided just before the boat could hit the boulders. One person went overboard but was lucky to be back on board and the lives of all 14 fishermen were saved," said the source.
