PANAJI
“What are you hiding Mr CM?,” the AICC secretary demanded while stating that the decision reflects the CM’s insecurities over the shaky footing of his coalition government and also over the shady transactions behind closed doors at the Ministers’ Block.
Speaking at Congress House, Chodankar stated, “He is an insecure Chief Minister with no control over his ministers. Seeking to block entry of the fourth estate into the Minsiters’ Block reflects his megalomania.”
“He cannot hide the chink in his coalition government and I wonder if he plans to carry out shady undertakings behind closed doors away from media glare. When in Opposition, you want transparency, when in government, you seek to close the doors and the windows shut,” Chodankar further remarked.
Congress condemned the act as an intimidation of the free press and called upon the Chief Minister to live up to his allegedly clean and non-corrupt image.
Chodankar also pointed out that by announcing his candidature for Panaji bypolls from the Secretariat, Parrikar has misused government offices to influence Panaji electorate. “Parrikar should stop taking undue advantage of being the Chief Minister. He should resign as the Chief Ministerbefore contesting the polls or he should allow even the Congress candidate to announce his candidature from the Secretariat,” the AICC secretary argued.
